Every Knudsen Vineyards block has something to say. With this wine, we capture the conversation between two delightfully diverse Pinot noirs produced on Southeast-facing plots and planted just a year apart in the heart of the vineyard. Block 15 is richer and darker – a wonderful complement to the lighter, brighter, more direct profile of block 17. With each wine speaking in equal measures, Throughline delivers beautifully layered, complex flavors and aromas.

The pale ruby hue leads way to a youthful bouquet of vanilla, Jory dust, subtle cherry and strawberry notes. The delicate palate opens up to flavors of red currant, oak spice, cranberry and tobacco. This young Dundee Hills Pinot Noir is built to age and should be cellared for a minimum of six months prior to opening, although it will be best after several years. The medium acidity and polished tannins balance out this elegant wine while hints of cranberry and earth round out the long finish.

Every growing season is unique and different and that certainly describes 2022. It was a roller coaster year – a frost event in mid-April, a cool and wet May followed by a warm July and August extending, uncharacteristically, into late October. The net result? A beautiful crop with strong yields, excellent quality, ripe flavors and bright acidity. Mother nature gave us concern early and then made up for it with great fall weather enabling one of the latest harvests in many years.
