In the vineyard, we prepare for another growing season confident that our land and vines are well-tended, and grateful to our vineyard crew for their dedication.
In early December, we blended the Knudsen Vineyards 2017 Pinot Noirs.
New Blends With New Vines
This year, for the first time, we included wine from younger Block 4, impressed particularly by the freshness, aroma, mouthfeel and flavor profile of this wine. Our Reserve Pinot Noir is an even mix of wine from Dijon clone 4407, only planted in Block 4, and Dijon clone 667 from Block 3 combined with 10% Pommard from Block 8.
Traditional Blends From Deep Roots
Our traditional Pinot is a blend of Dijon clone 777 from Block 3 and Dijon clone 667 from Block 4. We are really excited about these wines and expect that our 2017 Pinot Noirs will be elegant and characterized by brightness, complex fruit, balanced acidity, lower alcohol and good tannins.
Through a continued laser-focus on vine care and the benefits of 46 years experience managing our vines and land, we are confident that our vineyard and vines improve in health and capacity to produce grapes of the highest quality. With top quality fruit and superior winemaking, we expect our wines to even more fully reflect the truly unique and distinctive terroir of our land.
We relish another year of adventure and growth.
