2015 Pinot Noir

The Knudsen Vineyards 2015 Pinot Noir wine mirrors the style of previous vintages, blending estate grown fruit from Block 5, planted in 2001 and Block 6, planted in 2004, both French Dijon 777 clones, and Block 3, planted in 2001, a French Dijon 667 clone. This wine was aged 20% in new French oak and aged 16 months in barrel before bottling.

2016 Reserve Pinot Noir

The 2016 growing season was nearly ideal, resulting in exceptional quality fruit of depth, power, brightness and finesse. We produced this Reserve Pinot Noir, our second, with grapes from four dispersed vineyard blocks offering darker fruit aroma and flavors – cherry, plum, even a hint of blackberry – combined with a subtle earthiness and spice, resulting in a wine of considerable richness, silkiness and complexity. The foundation of the 2016 Reserve is sourced from the 17-year old vines in Block 3, the “heart” of the northern of our two slopes, planted in French Dijon clone 667. It is livened with a blend of darker, deeply aromatic fruit from higher elevation Block 1, planted in 2006 with French Dijon clone 777, and also fruit from Block 6, planted in 2004, another 777 clone, and Block 8, a heritage Pommard clone planted in 2008, offering hints of dried mushroom, some spiciness and a velvety texture. The wine was aged 35% in new oak barrels for 16 months before bottling. This is a beautiful, deeply satisfying wine that will age well over 10-15 years.

2015 Chardonnay

The Knudsen Vineyards 2015 Chardonnay blends estate grown fruit from two blocks on the southern half of our vineyard – higher density, flavorful Block 9, planted in 1995 to the French Dijon clones 95 and 76, grown at elevations between 710-760 feet – and higher density, balanced, micro-scale Block 10, planted in 1995 to the French Dijon clone 76, grown at slightly lower elevations between 655-690 feet. The wine was aged 27% in new French oak and aged 10 months in barrel before bottling.

2015 Pinot Noir

Brilliant ruby red color in the glass. A very friendly wine with aromas of ripe red cherry, cranberry, rose, sandalwood, and a touch of earth. Medium weight and concentration wrapped around a core of red fruits with cherry as the centerpiece. Additional accents include baking spices and brioche. Elegantly styled and forward drinking with supple tannins and a robust finish that builds richness over time in the glass.

2016 Reserve Pinot Noir

The Reserve yields a concentrated hue, with aromas of black cherry, blackberry, fresh mushroom and wood spice. The palate lends itself to a more serious tone—a fuller, more structured texture with darker, deeper flavors of kirsch, baked red plum, vanilla bean, and freshly-grated nutmeg. A regal wine with a broad, expansive mouthfeel and a pleasantly long, soft finish. An excellent wine, and one built to last.

2015 Chardonnay

Nicely perfumed with aromas of lemon curd, cut apple, nectarine, and buttery brioche. Highly satisfying on the palate with flavors of citrus, pear, ripe apple, spice and vanilla, and a zing of lemon-lime on the juicy, prolonged finish. Slightly creamy in texture and polished, combining the most desirable traits of Chardonnay.

2016 Chardonnay

This delicious Chardonnay exhibits a vibrant light straw color in the glass and presents a lovely, subtle aroma of the stone fruits of pear and peach with a hint of green apple and vanilla. This wine is supple while possessing great natural acidity, balanced and enhanced with modest French oak. The mouthfeel is crisp, yet juicy, with some minerality, and delivers a lingering and elegant finish.
